Iniaki is a driven and accomplished data scientist pursuing innovative applications of machine learning. He recently completed a Master's in Data Science with top marks, adding to his outstanding academic foundation of a First Class BSc in Financial Mathematics.

Currently, Iniaki is focused on leveraging his passion for math, statistics, and coding as a Junior ML Engineer. He is assisting in developing cutting-edge algorithms for pattern detection in stock market data and fraud detection in cryptocurrencies.

Junior Machine Learning Engineer Timothy is a dedicated professional with a BSc degree in Informatics and Mathematics from Sokoine University of Agriculture. With a robust foundation in system analysis and design, particularly for AI-based systems, Timothy brings a distinctive combination of technical proficiency and creative thinking to his projects.

Having amassed three years of hands-on experience in the development of machine learning algorithms, including those for plant disease detection and plant nutrient recommendation systems, Timothy has continually expanded his practical knowledge in the field. As a junior researcher, he has contributed as a co-author to two published scientific papers in the domain of machine learning, underscoring his growing expertise.

Currently, Timothy serves as a Junior Machine Learning Engineer, where he engages in the creation of cutting-edge computer vision and signal processing.

Timothy Abayo

Antonis is a young, aspiring Data Scientist from Athens, Greece. He's earned an M.Sc. in Applied Data Science from the University of Utrecht and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Informatics Department at the University of Piraeus.

Throughout his academic journey, he explored various areas of Machine Learning, but his interest lies in Natural Language Processing, as both of his thesis projects revolved around leveraging transformers and other architectures to solve text classification and machine translation problems.

Currently, Antonis works as a Machine Learning Engineer at Pyrsos, focusing on AI applications for music information retrieval tasks.

Steven achieved the ‘Best Student’ award following his BSc graduation in Computer Science from Ruaha Catholic University in Tanzania. Following that, he quickly made a mark as a back-end developer at a Tanzania-based fintech start-up, WayData Company Limited.

Currently serving as a Junior Machine Learning Engineer, his portfolio includes impressive machine learning projects from his academic career, including a standout senior thesis on Facial Recognition and a noteworthy internship as a machine learning developer at the e-Government Authority of Tanzania.

Steven Manangu

Fabio Rodríguez is currently in his third year of the Ph.D. programme in Mathematics at the University of Seville. His research focuses on algorithms, computational theory, mathematics, data science, and machine learning.

Currently, he is applying computational techniques to address diverse problems in the industry. Fabio has co-authored numerous research papers published in esteemed journals. Moreover, he actively participates in many international conferences related to algorithms and machine learning.

He holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Seville and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Havana.

Rebecca makes up part of Tanzania team and holds BSc degrees from both the National Institute of Transport and the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology. An expert in embedding and mobile systems, her passion for data-driven technology led her to explore the realms of machine learning and data science.

Presently, Rebecca serves as a Junior Machine Learning Engineer, which gives her the opportunity to apply her extensive knowledge and skills to tackle real-world challenges and contribute to the ever-evolving field of artificial intelligence.

With diverse creative experience in algorithmic music, creative computing, architecture, and product design, Adam He shifted his career to AI music in 2020 by undertaking PhD research on Machine Audio Synthesis for Electroacoustic Composition, at Creative Computing Institute, University of the Arts London, where he has been trained to be a machine learning specialist with a focus on AI music generation.

He joined DAACI in 2022 and has been the main technological contributor to the innovative project Drum Pattern Mine & Match. To extend further his research towards a more DAACI-specific direction, Adam will transfer his current PhD to another programme, UKRI Centre of Doctoral Training in Artificial Intelligence and Music, at Queen Mary University of London, starting from 2023.

Petros Giannakopoulos is a Research Scientist with Pyrsos, working on the creation of Machine Learning systems for a variety of applications, such as audio and image classification.

His PhD, undertaken at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), focuses on leveraging Deep Reinforcement Learning for the creation of Intelligent Agents capable of interacting with visual and audio environments. He is lead author of five conference papers and one journal publication. Additionally, he holds an MSc in Control and Computing and a BSc in Physics, both from NKUA.

Before Pyrsos, he worked for two years as a Research Scientist for a funded research project of University of Piraeus, creating Deep Learning systems for audio generation and audio classification. He also worked for three years as a Machine Learning Engineer for Altered Ltd., creating Deep Learning systems for speech generation, speech classification and natural language processing. Furthermore, he worked for one year as a Research Collaborator for the National Center of Scientific Research "DEMOKRITOS", developing HPC applications for the simulation of natural processes. Occasionally, he takes part in Kaggle data science competitions where he has earned 2 bronze medals, as a solo competitor.

Dr. Petros Giannakopoulos

Juan S. Gómez-Cañón is a researcher, engineer and musician from Colombia. He holds a Ph.D. in Information and Communication Technologies from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain).

During his Ph.D., Juan researched human-centered and trustworthy machine learning methods to predict the emotions in music. He has co-authored several conference and journal papers on deep learning, human-centered design, personalization, dataset curation, and digital signal processing. Juan also holds a M.Sc. in Media Technology (TU Ilmenau, Germany), a B.Sc. in Electronics Engineering and a B.A. in Music (Los Andes, Colombia).

He is currently a Machine Learning Research Scientist at Pyrsos researching personalization, modeling users' taste, and recommendation systems for media. 

Dr. Juan Gomez

Helena is an engineer, researcher, and part-time musician from Barcelona. She holds a Ph.D. in Music Information Retrieval from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain), during which she investigated deep learning techniques for content-based music analysis, specifically for automatic music transcription. She has co-authored several conference and journal publication on topics at the intersection of music, machine learning, and audio signal processing.


As well as her Ph.D., Helena also holds a B.Sc. in Audiovisual Systems Engineering, an M.Sc. in Sound and Music Computing, and studies in music theory, composition, and cello performance. In the last decade, Helena has actively participated in numerous Women in STEM initiatives as a mentor and workshop instructor to inspire the younger generation to pursue careers in STEM. 

Helena is currently a Machine Learning Research Scientist at Pyrsos and DAACI working on AI for music understanding tasks such as machine listening and music classification.
